About

Winchester College was founded in 1382 and has been educating boys age 13 to 18 since then. The school website https://www.winchestercollege.org/ provides more information and details about the school’s archives can be found here https://www.winchestercollege.org/explore/archives-libraries-treasury and here https://winchestercollegearchives.org/

The Winchester College at War website provides a brief biography for every member of the School community who perished in conflicts from the Crimea War onwards.

The biographies on this site are drawn from the Winchester College Rolls of Honour and service rolls, with additional information drawn from other School records and regimental histories. Please contact the College Archivist, Suzanne Foster, on [email protected] if you find any inaccuracies.
